ARLINGTON - Linda Ann Looney Shaffer, 56, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Linda was born Nov. 20, 1952, in Amarillo to Herbert and Rowena Looney. She graduated with honors from Tascosa High School in Amarillo. She received her master's degree in biology from University of Texas in Arlngton.

Linda held prestigious positions in Environmental Corp., which often sent her abroad. She loved the outdoor life.

Linda was a beloved wife, mother and daughter. She suffered from a debilitating stroke.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Looney.

Survivors include her husband, Randy Shaffer; a son, Tyler Looney; her mother, Rowena Looney of Amarillo; a sister, Debbie Peters of Amarillo; a brother, Richard Looney and wife Pam of Houston; three stepchildren, Jeramy, Rachel and Sarah Shaffer, all of Arlington; five nieces; two great-nephews; and many family members and friends who loved her.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
