 You knew her as Dianna C Johnson. We married on the 5th of August 1972, with her name changing to Dianna C Tillerson. We met at the Big Texan, where she was the head cashier and I, being 6'7" was simply a Big Texan for the tourists. Dianna followed me around the world during my USAF Career, and despite all the moves managed to get enough time in with the state to retire. We dated for about 2 years before we married. We had 3 fantastic children and one unbelievable grandson. It is with the greatest sorrow that Dianna passed away barely a week past our 42 wedding anniversary, on the 13 of August. Her birthday was the 19th of August, which only deepened our sorrow. Those were the greatest 42 years of my like. There was an obituary Friday the 15th of August in the Austin American Statesman http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/statesman/obituary.aspx?n=dianna-tillerson&pid=172114741&fhid=4302. We had made Austin our home, being assigned here for 4 years in the mid eighties. After retiring in Turkey, we moved permanently back to Austin, TX. There will be an online memorial established within the month ( I have an unbelievable amount of paperwork to deal with). Once established, there will be Dianna's favorite music and photos taken throughout her life . I know of a Judy Harrell that was one of her best HS friends, and I'm sure there are many others who knew her. As I stated this site will be perpetual, so bookmark the site. I won't / can't say goodby to Dianna, we'd been together so long I can still feel her standing next to me. I can only hope it won't be so long before I can hold her in my arms again. I am saddened by the news of her passing. I remember her well from Tascosa, she had one of the most contagiuos laughs I'd ever known. Hanging out with her at Stanleys were some of my fondest memories.

Dianna was one of the most beautiful girls I knew, both inside and out. She had the most incredible eyes...full of life and spark! How fortunate that you both met when you did and were able to spend so many wonderful years together. She became even more lovely over time, and I have to believe that had something to do with being married to you, David. I absolutely loved Dianna and I'm so sad for all of us upon hearing of this great loss.

Hi David, So sorry about hearing obout your loss of Diane. I left Amarillo in 1976,but I remember her in Elementary and Jr. High. I have known a woman in Craig Colorado for many decades....in fact I met her in 1976 when I moved to Craig. Could it be the same person??

It saddens me so much to hear of the passing of this sweet friend. Even though we didnt stay in touch the thought of her always made me smile. She had such an infectious smile and laugh. We played sports together and had a great time in Jr. High. I pray that God will bring comfort to her sweet husband and family. The world is a bit darker without her smile.
