D'Lynn and I were very close friends during high school, college and beyond. We were bonded through ballet and performing in the musical "Texas" for many summers.
What always struck me about my friend was her quick wit - she could lay a person out cold with her measured, sharp, insightful words. You could always see the wheels turning in that amazing head of hers. And what an artist! She was insanely talented-a dancer as well as an artist. She was as beautiful inside as she was outside, and was of genius intelligence, to be sure. Beauty, brains and talent-a real triple threat!
I have missed her so much. She will never know what a profound impact she had on my life or how much her friendship meant to me. On the other hand...maybe she does.
