Fred Henison Hays

Fred Henison Hays, 55, of Mc Kinney, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Fred graduated from Tascosa High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Arts in public administration from the University of Houston. Fred served in city management for cities in Texas, Oklahoma and Florida. He was a member of several professional organizations such as ICMA and Rotary Club. At the time of his death, Fred was community manager of The Woodlands housing development near Houston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Lee Harmon Hays, in February 2006; his mother, Doris Hays, in 1990; and his father-in-law, Leonard Harmon, in 1989.

Survivors include a son, John Hays of McKinney; his father, Henison Hays and wife Penny of Amarillo; a brother, Jim Hays and wife Dee Ann of McKinney; his mother-in-law, June Harmon of Amarillo; several other relatives; and many friends.
